July 17th, 2020

Unfortunately, due to the latest Governor’s Orders and our desire to do our part to #FlattenTheCurve (again) we will be in limited operation this week.

First and foremost, we thank everyone who has continued to support us as a small, family-owned business. Without the support of our dedicated Members, we would not have been able to reopen after the March-May COVID closure at all, and for that we, and everyone who has been able to float during the past 7 weeks and going forward, thank you. In gratitude to our member base, we will be adding an additional 2 floats total for our Members who stay active in July and August. Please come and use them as soon as we re-open. We are here to serve you.

Even though we’ve had an amazing 7 weeks of safe floating at our “Isolation Center”, it is imperative that we continue to reassess what our immediate community impact is. As a wellness company we are always considering the community we serve, and due to the recent concerning rise in the spread of COVID-19, we want to encourage our community to stay home and help slow the spread which is now up to an alarming 1.1 infection rate (the true number of the how fast the virus is spreading).

We have made the decision based on the latest Governor Orders for the State of CA   and rising infection rates as well as our desire to do our part to reduce the opportunity for spread/infection by encouraging our clients to stay home and reduce any personal contact outside of their family/home unit.  We will reassess the current information available to us daily with the goal of resuming operations as soon as we feel it safe and responsible.  We feel now is a time to exercise an over abundance of caution as the infection rates continue to rise based on the behavior of Californians and those visiting our state.

We know how important floating is, especially right now. The additional pressure on our nervous system from staying/working at home undoubtedly only adds to the stress of living through this global pandemic. Everyone could benefit from the relief that floating provides, especially now, and we are looking forward to being able to provide that to our community once again as soon as possible while still maintaining our social responsibility as a wellness center.

That said, if floating is a serious medical treatment that is crucial to your wellbeing, please reach out to us via email at info@justfloat.com, and we will do everything we can do to support you, including arranging individual appointments if possible. We will remain open in an extremely limited capacity as an essential medical facility.  We are confident that our cleaning and social distancing practices are safe, but for the community as a whole we feel it is best to encourage everyone to stay at home as much as possible until the curve is decreasing once again.

We understand how difficult it is for a business you support to reduce their hours and appreciate your support and understanding during these interesting times.  We will reassess the current information available to us daily with the goal of resuming operations as soon as we feel it is safe.

This modification to our operation is temporary, as we all take responsible action to reduce the infection rate by wearing a mask in public and temporally avoiding physical contact with humans outside our immediate family unit whenever possible.  We are using this time to do yet another deep cleaning and maintenance to our facility so that as we reopen fully shortly, we will be able to continue to serve you better than ever!

Thank you again for your understanding and for taking personal responsible action daily to do your part in reducing the spread of the virus which will ultimately allow in-person socializing (and business/activity as a whole) to be able to be safe once again. We look forward to being able to serve you again soon.

Call in patience and peace. Remember that this is a great time to be present with yourself and others, and then be patient. Cultivating our own stillness and our own peace, although difficult at times, will not only make this time much easier, it will also be helpful once we are able to get back into a float.

Improve your Meditation skills. Deepening your Meditation practice is a great skill to work on during this time, and a useful tool in creating that inner stillness and peace. Light Watkins is one of our favorite Meditation Teachers, here’s a great walk through video from him for beginners. We want to encourage you to explore and find what works best for you, as there are so many different options and resources available, and our meditation journeys all look different.

Take a break to find your zen. If you’ve ever come to one of our monthly Zendo events, you know how powerful it is. You can access the relaxing music journey from the comfort of your home, all you need is a comfortable place to lie and headphones.  Leo Canneto is now running live Zendo Events streamed to the comfort of wherever you are on Wednesday and Sunday Nights on a donation basis!

Again, we want to thank each of you for your continued support, and look forward to seeing you and serving you again soon!
Take care, stay healthy, and we’ll be back together very soon!
As always, if you have any questions about your account or floating, please reach out to us at info@justfloat.com and we will be happy to help!
