If you had a chance to read our sports blog, you know that many professional athletes attribute part of their success to float therapy. For other celebrity/famous floaters and their success stories, read on.

Since the early days of floating, celebrities, creatives, artists, and other figures in the public eye have flocked to the practice to stay at the peak of their professions. American actor Jeff Bridges found his first float mentor in John C. Lilly (the inventor of float therapy) and has been floating for over 40 years. Here, Bridges speaks to Jimmy Fallon about floating for inner calm and self-reflection:

One of today’s biggest champions of floating is actor, comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan. A float enthusiast for nearly 20 years, Rogan has sung the praises of floating in many interviews – including on his own podcast (The Joe Rogan Experience.) This video with Joe (link below) is an excellent all-around treatise on the importance of floating for both personal development and for breakthrough ideas (*some adult language):

As there are as many benefits to floating as there are different kinds of celebrities, here’s a ‘lightning round’ of other famous floaters who’ve benefitted enormously from their time(s) in a float tank:

Michael Crichton (author, “Westworld”) found floating at a crucial time in his career, and claimed that the practice helped cure him of writer’s block.

John Lennon was famously able to kick a debilitating heroin addiction through extended periods of float therapy.

Elle Macpherson: throughout her career, supermodel Macpherson has touted the benefits of floating and its magnesium-rich Epsom salts for skin and beauty care.

Best-selling author Tim Ferriss touts floating as “one of the most anxiety-reducing experiences I’ve ever had”– and as a tool towards the rapid acquisition of new knowledge.

(Other famous floaters include Jim Carrey, Susan Sarandon, Russell Brand, Neil Young, and Kristen Wiig, to name just a few.)

Bottom line? Floating isn’t awesome because celebrities do it; celebrities float because it’s awesome. As other ‘famous floaters’ cross our paths at Just Float, we’ll update this blog to keep you posted.
